The modern, cosmopolitan city of Tel Aviv launches our spiritual interlude with the holy lands of Israel and Jordan. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. This evening, meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers at a Welcome Reception.

Tel Aviv – Jaffa – Caesarea – Megiddo – Murhraqa – Sea of Galilee (2 nights)

Delve into centuries of history as your day begins at Jaffa, the colourful old port where Jonah set sail before he was swallowed by the whale. Continue to Caesarea, built by Herod the Great in the 1st century BC and once the capital of Judaea. Admire what remains of Herod's grandiose building works, including the restored 3,500-seat Roman theatre, aqueduct, harbour and the Crusader Fortress. Then, travel to Meggido, an age-old fortified town and one of the world's most important biblical sites. According to the New Testament, this is where the Battle of Armageddon will take place. Your final stop today is Murhraqa on Mount Carmel - its 17th-century monastery marks where the prophet Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal.

Sea of Galilee – Capernaum – Tabgha – Mount of Beatitudes

Sail on the Sea of Galilee and visit the Jesus Boat, an ancient fishing vessel dating back to 1BCE. Continue to Capernaum, to visit the remains of ornately carved white ruins of the 2nd-century synagogue. Stop at Tabgha to see the site where Jesus fed the five thousand with only five loaves of bread and two fish. Then, visit the Church of Multiplication with its 4th-century mosaic floor depicting birds and plants. Proceed to the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus drew crowds, delivering his inspiring Sermon on the Mount. Return to your hotel, stopping en route at Yardenti, the Baptismal site.

Nazareth – Cana – Beit She'an – Jerusalem (4 nights)

The Church of the Annunciation with its lantern symbolising the Light of the World, is our first stop today. It was in a nearby cave that Archangel Gabriel appeared to Mary to share the blessing that she would conceive and give birth to Jesus, the Son of God. We head for Cana next, where Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding feast. We'll stop at Gideon's Spring, where Gideon tested his army so he could decide who would join him in battle against the Midianites. Then, visit Beit She'an, one of the world's best-preserved Roman cities. Our journey takes us to Jerusalem next, via the Jordan Valley.

Old City of Jerusalem

A walking tour of Jerusalem's Old Town, shows us the Mount of Olives, providing memorable views over the city. We stroll through the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed on the night before his arrest. Our guide leads us into the Jewish Quarter, where we view the Western Wall with its prayer notes and the Dome of the Rock located on Temple Mount. Walk the Station of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the traditional site of the Resurrection of Christ.

Ein Karem – Israel Museum – Bethlehem

Drive to Ein Karem to visit the Church of the Visitation, honouring the visit paid by the Virgin Mary to Elizabeth, mother of John the Baptist. Proceed to the Israel Museum to see the Dead Sea Scrolls and the miniature model of Jerusalem as it was during the second Temple period. Next, journey to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus and King David. Visit the Church of the Nativity, built over the cave thought to be the spot where Jesus was born.

Jericho – Masada – The Dead Sea

We drive to Jericho, traversing the desolate Judean wilderness. Imagine the roar of trumpets and triumphant shouts that led Joshua's army to victory as the city walls crumbled. Pass the Qumran Caves, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, then continue to the striking cliff top fortress of Masada. Ride by cable car to the ancient fortress where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans. Explore the excavations of Herod's Palace with some free time later today to float in the Dead Sea. Enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Jerusalem – Allenby Bridge – Bethany beyond the Jordan – Amman

After breakfast, transfer to Allenby Bridge where you'll cross the border into Jordan. Visit Bethany beyond the Jordan to see the site where John the Baptist preached and Jesus was baptised. Continue to the white stone city of Amman.

Amman – Jerash – Petra (2 nights)

Witness the once-illustrious past of Jerash during your visit to its 3rd-century ruins. Explore its well-preserved Greco-Roman ruins which reveal the tale of this city's zenith and fall during the 12th-century Crusades. Return to the seven hills of Amman and join a Local Specialist for a sightseeing tour. Walk through the impressive 6,000-seater Roman amphitheatre, built into the northern side of a hill that once served as a graveyard, and see Jabal al-Qala, one of the seven jabals (mountains) that originally made up Amman. Journey to Petra, where you'll dine at your hotel tonight.

Petra Sightseeing

The rose-red façades of Petra beckon today as we enjoy a full day to explore one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Carved into the sheer rock face over 2,000 years ago by Nabataeans, Petra was an important link in the Silk Road trade route. Enter the city through the Siq, a narrow gorge flanked on either side for over 1,200 metres by cliffs soaring 80 metres high - Nabatean gods, etched into rock, line your route. Emerge from the path and see the magnificent 40-metre façade of the Treasury, with its ornate decorations, the first of many wonders to be explored.

Petra – Kerak – Madaba – Mt. Nebo – Amman

Follow the King's Highway north, and visit the 12th-century Crusader fortress, Kerak, once used as a base to control Bedouin herders and trade routes. At Madaba's St. George's Church, view The Kings Way mosaic portrait of the Holy Land, the largest mosaic portrait in the world, dating from the 6th century. Ascend Mount Nebo for your view of the Promised Land before returning to Amman for a Farewell Dinner at your hotel with your fellow pilgrims.
