Buckle up for an exhilarating morning navigating the shifting sands of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area- a windswept adventure through an endless sea of sand, marshes and tree islands. Sweeping coastal views are ours to enjoy as we pass Heceta Head and see its beautiful 19th century lighthouse-the brightest light on the Oregon coast-before checking into our oceanfront hotel for an evening at leisure.

The sun-worshipping seals of Newport Harbour take centre stage this morning as we join an expert Local Specialist onboard a nature cruise to spot the sea life and marine birds that find sanctuary amongst these waters. Admire the natural beauty of Oregon's historic Columbia River Highway, imagining a time when Model Ts would ramble over bridges and through tunnels hand-hewn from the mountain rock. Pay tribute to the brave Oregon pioneers at Vista House and admire panoramic views of the winding Columbia River below. We journey to the two-tiered Multnomah Falls, the second-highest year-round waterfall in the United States, then enjoy some free time for lunch in Hood River in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge. Consider indulging in the local speciality of salmon and chips, washed down with one of many craft beers for which Oregon is so famous, and visit Timberline Lodge on the slopes of the snowcapped Mount Hood.

Portland – Mount St. Helens – Olympic National Park

See Mount St. Helens, whose legendary eruption was so colossal that it spewed ash into 11 states. We visit the award-winning Mount St. Helens Visitor Center which acts as a gateway to this Ring-of-Fire volcano, providing interactive exhibits of the event and a working seismograph. Our next stop is the vast wilderness of Olympic National Park before we meet Harvest Moon, a Local Specialist, who will share with you the tribal legends and stories of the Quinault nation who for generations have lived in the Pacific Northwest. Tonight, our Stay with a Story is a rustic lodge built in the 1920s on the site of the old 'Log Hotel'.

We delve into the emerald-green depths of Hoh Rainforest, trekking to its eerie "Hall of Mosses" past maple and spruces dripping with moss, then stop to admire the brilliant blue waters of Lake Crescent before leaving Olympic National Park. As we journey across Puget Sound, views of Seattle's Space Needle and snow-capped Mount Rainier herald your arrival in the Emerald City, which you have an opportunity to explore at your leisure this evening.

You're free to explore Seattle on your terms with your choice sightseeing giving you a chance to visit the fantastical glass sculptures of Chihuly Garden and Glass Art Museum or take a trip to the top of the landmark Space Needle. Our next stop is the historic Pike Place Market, the nation's oldest farmer's market, where the fish fly low-from one fishmonger's hands to the next. Indulge in the market's spirit of meeting the producer, then join your newfound friends for a Farewell Dinner.
